It was remarkably easy. I don't want to brag, but the diet Pepsi is out of my life, and the plastic recycling bin looks sad and empty. We talked about replacing the caffeine in the last blog, and I found the green tea a great replacement. I bought one of these instant hot water jobbies a couple of years ago (sucker for a gadget!), you know the thing, fill it up with hot water, stick your cup underneath and press. It has made tea making much easier, but why am I surprised? It does what it says on the tin!
So, has it made a difference? Apart from feeling very smug? I think it has. It may be a result of all the wee changes I've made, but I do think I'm sleeping better.
My calorie counting isn't great, but I am eating in a more regular fashion. I can't say I'm too enthusiastic about breakfast yet, so sometimes my first food is mid morning, not perfect but better than mid evening! I'm definitely eating more, and feeling fuller, with NO weight gain.
the articles today are about making little changes, avoiding 'dieting', and losing weight.
Simple Changes to Your Habits Are All That's Really Required to Lose Weight and Keep It Off
We all love to know what is going on with the movie stars, but one thing that is quite noticeable and often reported on is their weight fluctuations. Granted, some of them need to do this in order to be cast in a particular role, but most celebrities and average citizens like us are constantly trying to find out how to lose weight and keep it off. Oprah is a prime example. After using a particular fad program the end result is all too often gaining the weight back and then beginning the search for yet another fad solution.
Changes to Your Lifestyle
Okay, I want you to forget about the word "diet." It's the best thing you can do, and by adding in a few changes to your lifestyle you will learn how to lose weight and keep it off.
Do you know what to eat?
It's a great question, and the answer can be found in your food journal. See how many nutritional foods you've eaten throughout the week (veggies, fruits, etc.). Just by seeing all this information in front of you can deliver plenty of beneficial tips.
How about Drinks?
Move Around more often
Forget about making a New Year's resolution, jumping on all the drastic diets, powders, and pills, or anything else that won't provide your body with the essential tools to lose weight the right way.

5 Ways to Wake Up Your Metabolism
I have some bad news... but with the bad always comes the good, right? Alright here it goes... sitting down just might be the culprit of extra weight gain. Ok, so that isn't something that you wanted to hear, but according to a study done by the University of Missouri Columbia and the American Diabetes Association, prolonged hours of sitting over a period of time could be slowing down your metabolism.
The most frustrating thing about this is that with some jobs, there is just no way around avoiding sitting for these long hours. Whether behind the desk, in a cubicle, or driving a vehicle... you can do simple things to break up those unbearable periods of time where you find your bum going numb.
1. As you know, waking up your metabolism in the morning is just as important as you waking up to that first alarm.
2. Take every possible opportunity to get away from your desk or your work vehicle.
3. During your lunch break go for a brisk 30 minute walk.
4. Try to take every call that you receive standing.
5. I know the days get long. However, after dinner instead of plopping down on the couch, grab your significant other and go for a light walk.

Well, it makes sense, but that doesn't mean its easy, especially the walking after tea.
I am feeling quite proud of myself today, but I know there is a good way to go yet. I'm sitting on the couch just now, with my laptop on my lap(where else?), but it would be nice to see the whole keyboard, you know, without my belly hanging over the top!
